Julie is a self-taught multimedia artist based in Colchester, Essex. Her artistic journey began in childhood, but rather than pursue formal training, she chose a self-directed path—shaping her practice through experimentation, passion, and intuition. After a successful career in nursing, Julie made the life-changing decision to follow her heart and become a full-time artist.

Working primarily in high-flow acrylics and inks, Julie is known for her vibrant, energetic use of colour. She thrives on contrast—often pairing bold, joyful hues with deep, moody backgrounds to create visual drama and dynamic compositions.

Her latest collection of expressive cityscapes captures the pulse and splendour of urban life. Inspired by the cities she loves—particularly London and Paris—Julie seeks to portray not the static skyline, but the vibrant energy and fleeting moments that make each city unique. Bursts of colour, layered textures, and spontaneous marks convey the movement and emotion of places full of history and life.
