David Taylor
David Taylor is a contemporary landscape artist whose work evokes the power, stillness, and spirituality of the natural world. Originally trained as an architect in Lancashire, David’s love for structure and form later gave way to a deeper artistic calling. After years of global travel and inspiration, he returned to London to focus fully on painting.
Drawing from memory rather than direct observation, David captures the emotional essence of land, sea, and sky — elements he sees as the true heart of landscape painting. His oil paintings, often described as Turneresque, embrace the wild energy of the natural world, while inviting quiet reflection.
Working with a palette knife and brushes, David builds texture and atmosphere through layered movement and tone. His paintings are semi-abstract, allowing the viewer to discover their own horizon and find meaning within the shifting forms. There’s a mystic quality in his work — a sense of space that is both grounding and transcendent.
