Linda Charles

Linda Charles is a British artist whose distinctive style bridges the gap between fine art, fashion, and the natural world. Originally trained in textiles and fashion at Herriot Watt University, her creative journey began with a fascination for abstract design and rich surface texture. As the interior design boom of the early 2000s took hold, Linda’s work — layered with gold and silver leaf and vibrant, modern palettes — gained global popularity.

Now based in the Hertfordshire countryside, Linda draws much of her inspiration from the ancient and unspoilt beauty of Hatfield Forest. Wandering its tranquil backwaters and deer-dotted clearings, she captures the serenity and stillness of the landscape in sketchbooks before returning to the studio. There, she translates these impressions into textured compositions that delicately blur the line between abstraction and realism.

Linda’s recent work reflects a playful evolution — blending her background in fashion with her love of animals, she creates mixed-media pieces that incorporate feathers, jewels, and fabric into stylish couture portraits and whimsical wildlife scenes. Always experimental, her use of digital collage alongside traditional media adds a fresh, contemporary edge to her richly detailed style.

"Nature, texture, and fashion all feed my creativity — I want my work to feel calm, uplifting, and beautifully unexpected."
